BELIEFS AND ACTIONS
When Joan of Arc was born she was baptized and her family was Catholic, she was raised in a Catholic community. Joan's mother was a pious woman and Joan spent most of her time with her as a child, because of this she prayed every time the church bells rung. She valued God so much, when she heard the voices from God she followed Him.
Her belief in God was strong, because of this, when she heard the voices from God she decided when it was time she would take action. When she took action by following her instructions she helped save France from the English that were taking control of their country.

Although Joan of Arc saved her country with the help of God, she also changed the view of women in the Catholic Church during the medieval times. Women were not viewed as important people in society unless you had a high status like a Queen, princess or duchess, because Joan of Arc was a peasant girl, it showed she had courage to lead an army of men. The Catholic Church is now more welcoming and accepting of women and men to communicate with God.
Overall Joan of Arc inspired all to speak out in what you believe in. Everything that has happened to Joan of Arc, like people doubting her etc. She still did not give up or listen to what anyone said except for God who she valued the most. |
