Joan of Arc was born on January 6, 1412, during this time the Hundred year war was going on, she was born into the French peasant class in Domremy, which is a small village in the eastern of France called Lorraine . Her parents were both religious and lived on a farm. Instead of going to school she stayed and worked on the farm with her family. As Joan was still a young girl she stayed with her mother, who was a pious women, and because of this it has influenced belief in God.
By the age of thirteen she started hearing voices from God through St. Michael, St. Catherine and St. Margaret. Over five years the voices instructed her to lead the battle between the French and English, and when she was 16 she decided it was finally time to take action to the voices and visions. She did this by going to see the future ruler (King Charles VII) of France. When Joan met Charles he disguised himself but Joan knew who he was and immediately greeted him salutation. At first Charles was not entirely sure to trust Joan, but he got her to talk to a Priest to decide whether or not she is telling the truth. Somehow she had convinced him to help her save France. She was given an army of troops and travelled to the city of Orleans that was under siege of the english troops.

The news of Joan reached the city of Orleans before she even arrived. People began to have hope and believe that God was going to save them. When she had arrived she was welcomed with cheers and a celebration.
Once the French army had arrived, Joan launched a attack on the English, she was dressed as a man and led her army in battle. Joan had gotten wounded with a arrow but still fought on. Winning Orleans back in 1429 from the English was one of her biggest victories and she accomplished this at the age of 17.
After winning the Battle of Orleans she had only completed one part of her vision. The other part of her vision included Charles VII to be crowned King at Rheims. Joan and her her had cleared the way to Reims and while on her way she gained followers. July 1429 they had arrived and Charles was crowded.
